How it looks today.

Hi, my name is Wayne Steinbeck and I am a lifetime member of the Fabulous Fifties Car Club of St. Louis, Missouri. I have always loved 56 Chevys. I have owned my current car for over 20 years!
It started out as a derelict. Many people knew of this car and passed on it because it was too rough. Since I already had a running 2-dr hardtop that wasn't much better, I decided to combine the two. The initial body work was done at Classic Restoration. Work included replacing the floor pans, the tailpan and the roof. Bob Brennan (our current club president) and I finished the body work. Although the car was originally solid Matador Red, Bob painted the car two-tone: Matador Red and Dune Beige. The paint still looks good 13 years later! I finished putting the car together. It is semi-modified with a 327...and I gotta have my 4 speed! The rear gear is now 3:08 which is good for cruising, but I may put the 4:11 back in because it's much more fun!
Denise and I both enjoy this car. Denise especially likes to take it on long vacations. Some great places "the car has taken us" include Wisconsin, Texas, Omaha, Virginia Beach, Super Chevy Indy and many Classic Chevy shows. Of course, it has been to many local shows.
Always driven - - always will be!
